About this service

Foundation Apprenticeships are for secondary students in 5th and 6th year across Fife, providing early exposure to the world of work and helping young people gain industry recognised qualifications that broadens their career options.

Fife Council’s Foundation Apprenticeship team are responsible for the delivery of the SCQF Level 6 Health Care and Children & Young People’s frameworks. Delivery spans 1 academic year and includes work-based learning with young people completing a work placement with a local employer. Local businesses can help Develop Fife’s Young Workforce by providing work experience for Foundation Apprentices and help build their workforce for the future.

A Foundation Apprenticeship can also provide a pathway into a Modern Apprenticeship for young people who wish to progress on their employment journey through a work-based learning approach.
