Befriending for carers

Befriending and companionship for carers who feel isolated by their caring role.

Caring can be isolating. A befriender is a volunteer who gives regular time for company and conversation, and can help a carer keep in touch with the world outside caring. FVA's Kingdom Companions service is open to adults in Fife who are lonely or isolated, including carers, and works towards a goal the person chooses.

Carer support organisations in Fife also run groups, peer support and one-to-one support for carers; see carer support organisations. If you need a break from caring rather than company, look at grants and breaks.
