The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 and the Land Reform Acts give community organisations rights that did not exist a generation ago: to request the transfer of public assets, to buy land and buildings, to participate in decisions about public services, and to take part in community planning. Across Fife, community groups now run halls, shops, sports facilities and green spaces.
FVA helps organisations understand these rights and use them: checking your constitution qualifies, developing the business case, and connecting you with specialist support. See asset transfer and ownership for the detail, and community planning for how communities influence local decisions.
