Public sector staff sometimes see the early signs of trouble in an organisation they fund or work with: governance that has broken down, money that cannot be accounted for, a service that has stopped without explanation. Raising it early is usually the kindest thing to do, because most problems can be put right with support if they are caught in time.
- If a child or adult is at risk, report it through your own safeguarding procedure and to social work services or the police.
- Serious concerns about a registered charity can be reported to OSCR, the Scottish Charity Regulator, which has statutory powers to investigate.
- For anything else, contact FVA's capacity building team in confidence at [email protected]. We can approach the organisation, offer support, and help it deal with the problem properly.
