Volunteer Management Training Course 1 - Volunteer Involvement - Getting Started

Training and Learning
When
Tuesday 24 August 2027, 09:30 to 13:00
Where
Caledonia House, Pentland Park, Saltire Centre, Glenrothes

Costs

This event is free to attend, but to encourage a good turnout we charge a non-attendance fee of £25.00 per delegate for places that are booked and not used. By booking you agree to pay this fee for delegates who do not attend.

Cancellations received up to five working days before the event avoid the fee, once we have confirmed them. You can send somebody else in place of a booked delegate at no charge.

Whether you don't yet have any volunteers or have been working with volunteers for a while, getting these basics in place will reap great rewards. You'll be able to head off any issues with volunteers not understanding their responsibilities and you'll be clear about yours.

Included in the course:

  • Definition and types of volunteering
  • Importance and contribution of volunteers
  • Embedding volunteering in organisations
  • Planning for volunteering
  • Key documents including volunteer agreements and policies
  • Rights and responsibilities of volunteers and organisations

Who should attend?

Anyone who has, or is expecting to have, responsibility for recruiting or managing volunteers in their organisation. Your organisation should be providing a service in Fife.

In order to offer places to as many organisations as possible, we are only able to offer two places on each date to members of the same organisation. If your organisation would like to send more than 2 people, please get in touch with us to discuss options.

Additional Information

  • Notes from the session will be forwarded to all participants who complete a post-training evaluation form that will be e-mailed to you.
