Breast Cancer Now are launching an innovative pilot programme in Fife for those working in the third sector.
Their Train the Trainer programme will train local healthcare professionals and community workers to promote breast awareness, breast screening, and risk reduction messages within their local communities. They're aiming for breast screening attendance in the area to increase and for people to present earlier to their GP with any changes to their breast they may have noticed.
Training completion
All trainees will receive a certificate of completion, materials to use during and after the session, and access to Breast Cancer Now's online hub of resources to support their engagement activities.
Trainees also have the chance to book meetings to discuss any content questions, engagement ideas, or challenges.
Additionally, there is a small community grant fund available for applications of up to £1,500 to support elements of their community initiatives.
Breast Cancer Now will stay in regular contact after the training, via short surveys. This information is vital to successfully evaluate the pilot programme.
