Household goods support

Donated household goods for people in Fife who are setting up home or in difficulty, requested by the organisations that support them.

FVA holds donated household goods at the Community Support Hub in Dunfermline: kitchen and cleaning items, bedding and soft furnishings, toiletries, baby things, children's toys and books, clothing and more. Partner organisations across Fife can request them on behalf of the people they support, and collect them from the Hub.

Fife Council funds this service and needs a few details about each household for its monitoring. When a partner sends a request, they give us the family's name and postcode, how many adults and children are in the household, the reason for the referral and whether the family has used the service before, and only with the family's express consent. The name, postcode, reason and previous use are kept apart from the request: they are seen only by the FVA staff who prepare the report for Fife Council, and are used only by FVA and Fife Council, for monitoring and reporting.

If you need household goods, ask the organisation or worker supporting you, such as a housing officer, support worker or advice agency, to request them for you. If you are not in touch with a support organisation, contact us and we will help you find one. Partner organisations can view what is available and make requests once they have been given access.
