Regular breaks help carers keep going. FVA administers two schemes that give carers in Fife time away from caring, whether that is a holiday, a hobby, a day out with the person they care for, or simply time to rest.
- Time to Live grants: small grants funded by the Scottish Government through Shared Care Scotland and by Fife Health and Social Care Partnership, which carers can use for a break of their own choosing.
- Respitality Fife: short breaks donated free of charge by hotels, restaurants, leisure businesses and others, arranged through the carer support organisations.
The carer support organisations can help you apply, and can advise on other sources of help with breaks.
