The Time to Live Fund helps unpaid carers in Fife take a short break from their caring role.
Short breaks can make a huge difference, giving carers time to rest, recharge, pursue hobbies and interests, spend time with friends and family, or simply take time for themselves. For some people, a short break is something enjoyed together with the person they care for; for others, it is an opportunity to spend quality time apart.
Carers can apply for up to £500 towards the cost of a short break. As part of your application, you will need to provide a breakdown of the expected costs. If your application is successful, funding will normally be awarded based on the actual cost of the break. The average cost of a short break funded through Time to Live is between £300 and £400.
The current funding cycle will close on 25 February 2027, or sooner if all available funding is allocated. We encourage you to apply as early as possible rather than waiting until the closing date.
You must:
If you have received a Time to Live award within the last 12 months, your application is less likely to be successful, as priority is usually given to carers who have not recently received funding.
We collect your name and contact details so that we know who is applying, can contact you about your application, and can pay a grant if you are successful. We share what you tell us with the panel that considers applications, and with the funder or auditors if they ask. We do not share it with anyone else, and we never sell it.
Tell us who you are and we will e-mail you a link. You fill the form in through that link, a bit at a time if you want, and it saves as you go.
Cannot get into an application you already started, or stuck before you begin? Ask us for help.
Lost the link to an application you started or sent us? We can e-mail it to you again.
