Hourglass Scotland (formerly Action on Elder Abuse) works to protect older people from harm, abuse and neglect. They support those experiencing (or at risk of) harm, as well as raising awareness and advocating effective prevention and promoting safer ageing for all. They’re part of the organisation Hourglass who work across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and they are the first charity to address elder abuse and the only charity in the UK working on the issue exclusively today. Hourglass operate a free-to-call, 24/7 Helpline, and can also offer ongoing 1-1 support to older people at risk of or experiencing harm and abuse.
