  From 8–14 June, Carers' Week shines a spotlight on unpaid carers and the vital role they play every day. There are plenty of events taking place, along with information on funding, benefits and financial support.

  Many people don't think of themselves as unpaid carers, but if you regularly support a friend, family member or neighbour who is living with an illness, disability, mental health condition or addiction, you could be one.

  Whether you're an unpaid carer yourself or know someone who is, help and support are available. Take a look at what's on offer this Carers' Week and find out how you can access the support you deserve.

  Citizens Advice & Rights Fife: Carer Income Maximisation for Parent Carers (Glenrothes)
  Wednesday 10 June, from 3.30pm, Glenrothes

  Are you a parent carer of a young person at Glenrothes High School? 

  As part of Carers' Week, Citizens Advice & Rights Fife (CARF) is hosting a dedicated event to support you in making the most of your income and accessing the help you're entitled to. 

  Please note these sessions are for parents/carers of pupils at each school.

   

  
  Carers Week Day Disco
  Wednesday 10 June, 2.00 - 5.00pm, Kirkcaldy 

  Put on your dancing shoes and come and celebrate Carers Week with Fife Carers Centre. This is your chance to let your hair down, have a laugh, and spend time with people who get it.

   

  FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND FUNDING

  
  Social Security Scotland: Financial Help Available for Unpaid Carers

  Research has also shown that many people don’t recognise themselves as carers and are therefore missing out on help available. 

   

  
  Take a Break Fund for Carers

  Take a Break is Scotland’s short breaks fund for carers of disabled and seriously ill children, young people and their families. They can be used for a break away, towards leisure activities or outings, sports equipment and much, much more.

  Respitality in Fife: Breaks for Carers

  Respitality breaks can provide unpaid carers time to rest, pursue a hobby, catch up with friends, or just relax and recharge. For some, a break is an opportunity for the unpaid carer and the person they care for to enjoy time together; for others, it’s about having quality time apart.

   

  
  Time to Live Fund: £500 Towards a Break

  Unpaid carers in Fife can get up to £500 to help them get a break from their caring commitments.

  The funding can help with a range of costs associated with short breaks, including transport, accommodation, leisure activities and supported holidays.
