    Post: Volunteering Development Officer                                                                                
    Contract: Fixed term for 12 months in the first instance
    Hours: 28 hours per week, working pattern can be flexible across the working week to meet the needs of the role
    Salary: £23,200 (£29,000 FTE) per annum plus Living Pension – 9% Employer, 3% Employee contribution
    Location: Glenrothes – covering Glenrothes, Leven and North East Fife

    Volunteering can be a valuable first step into employment, particularly for young people. Fife Voluntary Action (FVA) is looking for a Volunteer Development Officer to help promote volunteering to young people aged between 16 and 25, as well as the general public. The postholder will support recruitment of volunteers to opportunities across a range of organisations operating in Fife. They will work with and support individuals who may have faced barriers in their lives to support them into volunteering. They will also work with organisations to support them to provide meaningful volunteering opportunities which deliver good outcomes for volunteers and the organisation.

    About you

    FVA is looking for someone who has a background in community development and with experience of working with, motivating and supporting volunteers effectively. Experience working with young people aged 16-25 is particularly desirable.

    It’s essential that you have excellent interpersonal skills and are able to engage with young people, professionals and other key stakeholders. You should be organised and efficient, with a personal commitment to equal opportunities.

    An understanding of the voluntary or charitable sector is desirable.
