The nominations for Fife’s 2025 Volunteering and Voluntary Sector Awards open on Tuesday 25 March.

Anyone can make a nomination – you can be a member of the public, volunteer, or work at an organisation. To help you write a stand-out nomination that will grab the attention of the judges, we have put together some handy tips and tricks:

    • If your nomination is shortlisted, all of the information we receive is shared with the judging panel and also written into the awards script. Please make sure you’ve got permission to share any particularly sensitive information from an individual, such as a difficult situation or past trauma.

    • The information you supply will be used on certificates, awards, websites, social media, and the press. Please ensure all names are spelled correctly, no abbreviations are used, and the correct titles are used throughout. Should the wrong information be supplied there may be a charge to have a replacement award produced.

    • Don’t underestimate the time it takes to write a nomination – give yourself plenty of time!

    • Create impact by using examples, case studies, testimonials, evidence, facts and figures to demonstrate any statements you make.

    • Focus the nomination on the work currently being undertaken and the impact it has, rather than telling us the history of your organisation.

    • Tailor the nomination to the category. Nominating for Socially Enterprising? Tell us specifically how you generated income and/or funding streams for your organisation and the impact that has had.

Many organisations and volunteers are doing some truly exceptional work and fully deserve special recognition. We’re inviting you to nominate those outstanding volunteers and organisations to receive that recognition and an award at our awards ceremony.

The awards are the highlight of the year for volunteering in Fife. We’d love to hear your success stories and shine a light on the role of Fife’s brilliant volunteers and voluntary organisations.
