    This event is being organised by Fife Voluntary Action

    It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

    Join us to discuss and share views with Scottish Government professionals about the development of national, quality standards for Adult Secondary Mental Health Services as well the creation of a national specification for the delivery of Psychological Therapies and Interventions in Scotland.

    Currently, there are no national standards or specifications set for the delivery of our Adult Secondary Mental Health Services and psychological therapies/interventions in Scotland. People with lived experience of accessing these services and people who work and volunteer in these services have identified this as a barrier to the delivery of quality care and support. The development of these standards/specifications aims to address this gap.

    This is a valuable opportunity to contribute to two consultations that will set the standards and specifications for both of these significant pieces of work. We have been in conversation with Scottish Government representatives to develop a targeted event that asks our local third sector, what they want to see in either of these standards and specifications.

    The team will kick off the event by providing an overview of each piece of work and then we'll break out into focus groups to discuss our thoughts. Your feedback will be recorded by a notetaker and will feed into this consultation.

    This is an interesting event to find out about these interesting pieces of work and share your views.

    We are running this Forum as a hybrid event - in person AND online via MS Teams. We will have online breakout rooms for those who plan to join online.

    Membership of the Forum is open to all staff and trustees with constituted third sector organisations operating in the Fife area in the field of health and social care (i.e. it's not just for organisations that focus entirely on mental health).

    Context

    Examples of secondary mental health services are hospitals, some psychological wellbeing services, community mental health teams (CMHTs), crisis resolution and home treatment teams (CRHTs), assertive outreach teams, and early intervention teams - more information here.

    Psychological therapies and interventions are - more information here:

    • evidence-based approaches that can improve your health by helping you make changes to your thinking, behaviour, and relationships to reduce distress, treat mental health difficulties, help manage emotions and improve wellbeing;
    • delivered in a broad range of health, social care, and third sector settings in Scotland; across the age range and for a wide range of need; and
    • evidence based techniques used to promote good psychological health, prevent psychological ill health, and provide mental health interventions.

    Both of these consultations close on 17 March 2023. If you can't make our Forum, but would still like to contribute, you can complete these Fife H&SCP's surveys to contribute to a Fife-wide response:

    These surveys close on 14 March and should only take 15 - 20 minutes to complete.
