A unique piece of research published late last year, shows that volunteering in the 65 and over age group, helps people stay more mobile AND reduces the risk of mortality. The same is true if someone is doing light caring tasks. However, when these are combined, so are the benefits. You can read a summary of the research here. And if you're interested in discussing volunteering options, FVA can help. Call us on 0800 389 6046, send an e-mail to [email protected] or text VOL followed by your name to 60777 and we'll get back to you.
