    Home-start Glenrothes are looking for volunteers who can support parents in their own homes, who are finding parenting a struggle or those who may be dealing with bereavement, illness etc. and need some additional support.

    Place: 47 - 48 Greenlaw Crescent, Glenrothes for training and thereafter within the family home.

    Homestart volunteers are matched carefully to a family with young children, and the aim is to build the confidence and independence of the family by:

    • Offering support;
    • Friendship and practical help;
    • Visiting the families in their own home;
    • Reassuring the families that difficulties in bringing up children are not uncommon;
    • Emphasizing the positive aspects of family life;
    • Building a relationship with the family, providing a regular;
    • Reliable presence in the family and encouraging families to widen their network of relationships and to utilize;
    • Effective the support and services available to them within their local community.
