  About the position

  Kirkcaldy YMCA is looking to appoint a cleaner at its Gallatown Community Hub. The appointed person will be responsible for cleaning the main hub and the pavilion buildings. The space includes a community café and events area, meeting rooms, a classroom, and bathrooms, including an outdoor toilet.

  General Duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • cleaning all areas and floors (including a weekly deep clean)
  • emptying bins
  • refilling and replenishing supplies (toilet rolls, soap dispensers, sanitiser, etc)
  • miscellaneous other jobs as required.

  The role can be flexible but will include weekend working.

  Ideally, you will have a UKCPAS Industrial Cleaning Foundation Certificate, but training will be given.

  You are required to be:

  • proficient in chemical handling and safe use
  • proficient in machines (use and care)
  • proficient in the safe use of equipment and storage
  • knowledgeable about safe systems at work
  • confident in reporting and communicating issues.

  The successful candidate should be flexible to meet the needs of the organisation. Previous keyholder responsibilities would be an advantage.
