    About this opportunity:Could you be an advocate for Public Access Defibrillators in your local area?

    Whether you already know a lot about these life-saving devices, or you're keen to learn, you could make a big difference by becoming a St John Scotland defibrillator volunteer.

    Main tasks include:
    - responding to community groups
    - approving applications
    - assure that location is suitable - using DefibFinderUK, Google Maps and Street View
    - share knowledge of the equipment, application process and key cardiac arrest statistics
    - identify existing defibrillators in the Area and offer support to the Guardian to make them accessible 24/7
    promote The Circuit so defibrillators are appropriately registered, have regular checks, and are therefore available for use

    If you're good at making connections, working with diverse communities and could influence and encourage more communities to provide Public Access Defibrillators, they'd like to hear from you.

    Minimum age:18
    Maximum age:100
    Training provided:Ongoing support from our staff team and other PAD Leads across the country as required. Ongoing volunteer training, mentorship and opportunities are offered as part of your role.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Expenses reimbursed at 45p per mile.

    Experience required:Volunteers should have: - Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and/or Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) knowledge - Ability to communicate effectively by phone, email and in person with volunteers and organisations requesting demonstrations - Organised, outgoing and welcoming personality - Comfortable using IT systems and websites - Desire to make a difference to the outcomes of Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrests in Scotland
