Curnie Clubs provide support to 26 to 49 year-olds who attend a weekly social group. This is a welcoming, warm, safe place where people are accepted for who they are and listened to. Could you support group activities that foster confidence and skill building in our members?
This role is currently virtual and involves:
- Attending and facilitating weekly virtual meetings for your area(s) with the area support worker. - Supporting group members to produce a 6-week plan of activities to be carried out in the virtual groups and ensure the area support worker has a copy. Previous activities included things such as; arts and crafts, cooking, yoga and garden activities etc. - Sharing a list of materials/supplies needed to carry out activities with the area support worker. These need to be purchased in advance to allow them to be distributed in time to group members. - Maintaining an active role in group chats/communication with group members on social media (Facebook). - Attending an online volunteer development session every 6-8 weeks with other volunteers and staff. - Occasional participation/contribution in Curnie publications (e.g. newsletter)
Internal training relating to the role will be provided. Additional external training may be available as agreed during support and development meetings with VDO.
All volunteers will be expected to attend Curnie Club initial training/induction.
Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - Public transport and mileage rate at 45p per mile. Out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed with prior agreement.
Expenses are generally paid monthly by BACS.
You do not need any previous experience all we ask is that you are over 18, friendly, enthusiastic and willing to listen. There is a small amount of admin required.
All parts of this role are currently online, therefore homebased for the volunteer. This may change back to, face-to-face in the future. Groups run in 6 locations across Fife from 11am until 1pm.
