OpportunityAbout this opportunity: Fife Rape and Sexual Assault (FRASAC) provide free confidential information and support to those who have experienced rape and sexual abuse at any time in their lives. They also provide support for families and friends affected by rape and sexual assault. Additional support services include advocacy and young person's service.
FRASAC are looking for volunteer support workers and counsellors to provide 1:1 support for their clients. Volunteers must demonstrate empathy and excellent listening skills , be self-motivated, calm, compassionate and friendly, non-judgemental regardless of gender, cultural differences and sexual orientation and willing to undergo further training relevant to the role. In return their volunteers will receive a 10-week training programme, with additional training as and when required. All expenses will be covered including mileage and PVG. There will be regular supervision and peer support in place, as well as, a point of contact in the Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteer work alongside paid staff providing high quality support and counselling to clients both at their premises in Kirkcaldy and in the surrounding areas of Fife.Takes place: mornings afternoons evenings Mondays 
Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays Saturdays Sundays Minimum age: none specified - most organisations will work with volunteers aged 16 and over Maximum age: 100 Training provided: Monthly supervision and peer support as well as regular support from the Volunteer Coordinator. Initial induction training for around 10 weeks, followed by any additional training relevant to the job role. Out of pocket expenses paid?
