About this opportunity:The Friendship Changing Lives Project supports vulnerable adults of all ages (who could have learning/physical disabilities, mental health issues etc) within local communities across West Fife who are affected by loneliness and isolation by building meaningful, long-term relationships and giving people a voice. Due to Covid-19, much of this continues to be remote, via phone, email and video calling but some face-to-face meetings are possible, in line with Scottish Government guidelines.

Each volunteer is matched with one vulnerable adult based on shared interests, personality, location, etc. to promote a long-lasting partnership and friendship. They are looking for volunteers with diverse interests, verything from gardening, sports and arts and crafts to gaming, eating out and getting out into the community. Although supported by Dunfermline Advocasy, volunteers and their partners can choose the activities they do together, as well as the times and days that this takes place, to suit their lifestyles.

Citizen Advocates come from all walks of life and have a shared commitment to help vulnerable adults. Citizen Advocates provide invaluable support and friendship through listening, helping someone to know what choices they have and more.
