    About this opportunity:The Local Studies Team at the Dunfermline Galleries are looking for someone with a passion for local history to scan and digitise their local photograph collection. This work will help FCT to make its collections more accessible to the public. The role involves working alongside a member of the Local Studies Team to undertake the following tasks:-

    Scan photographs and individually edit as instructed.
    Save edited images as TIFF files on external drive provided.
    Populate an Excel database with all available information pertaining to each image.
    Return original images to storage, as instructed.

    This role would be suited to someone with good basic PC skills, who is methodical and pays attention to detail. Being able to follow instructions well and handle archival material with care are also important.

    Training provided:All volunteers will receive a volunteer welcome pack on their first week, which contains information pertaining to our organisation, their role, etc. There is a standard induction process for all volunteers to help them get to know the venue, policy and procedures and, of course, the staff. Training will be on-the-job with support from FCT staff, and will be relevant to the individual events. Volunteers will have a named contact within FCT who will support them.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Volunteers should keep receipts as evidence of expenditure and present to their named contact for reimbursement.
