Would you like to volunteer alongside young people aged 8-16 years, encouraging and supporting them to reach their full potential, and at a place where their achievements are recognised and celebrated? Throughout their involvement with young people, the Youth Service aim to ensure that young people enjoy their youth work experiences, that they learn new skills and take part in opportunities with an emphasis on building relationships, learning together and having fun. The relationship that a young person has with Youth Work volunteers and staff is therefore central to what can be achieved and as a volunteer you will be directly involved in the youth club and it's activities. A volunteer that has a talent for passing on a skill in Sports, Arts & Crafts, Cooking & Baking and Music will quickly fit in with the needs of young people. You will help young people to participate, develop and grow so that they are confident, resilient and optimistic about their future. The club runs Fridays 7-9pm, volunteer needed 15 minutes before and after, term-time only.
You will receive an induction before starting and offered all the same training opportunities as is available to Youth Work staff. You will also have the chance to attend Youth Work meetings and have one to one support and supervision.
