Get behind the scenes of Fife Cultural Trust's Museums and help them to create exciting and inviting exhibitions! They are looking for volunteers with practical woodworking/joinery skills to help us prepare their next big exhibition!
Working under your own initiative, with guidance and support from their fabulous Curatorial Team, you will be helping to create display and interactive materials for their fun, family friendly exhibitions. You will help to bring their exhibitions to life, using your excellent joinery and DIY skills!
Duties will include contributing to the discussion on interactive requirements for upcoming exhibitions; carefully planning and designing plinths, supports and interactive games etc in conjunction with the Curator, and carrying out construction as directed.
For one-off events like this, there is no formal induction. The volunteers will receive a briefing on the day. They will receive training from an experienced member of staff who will support them throughout the day.

This opportunity is best suited to someone who is happy to work away on their own and in their own space. The volunteer should be able to take instructions well and have practical skills in woodworking / joinery.

For this role, you are required to have your own work space and equipment. All materials will be provided, and all transportation costs covered. The opportunity runs throughout 2019 at times to suit the volunteer and the curatorial team.
This opportunity is compatible with the Saltire Awards for volunteers aged 12-25.
