Safeguard his human rights and dignity. Offer practical help. Offer moral support. Help him to become more connected in his local community.
Citizens advocacy is when a reasonable local 'citizens' get to know a vulnerable person who is excluded from the community, in order to help that person, safeguard there needs and interests. Citizens Advocacy is based on a long-lasting friendship of respect and equality between two individuals and focuses on what the advocacy partner wants and helps them to put there own views forward.

Citizen advocates don't need any formal training or qualifications. A preparation Course is provided and one-to-one training with an advocacy development worker.
