    About this opportunity:Do you have a passion for working with young people? Do you have a skill to share? Teenage Cancer Trust are looking for volunteers to deliver workshops for young people going through cancer treatment or support with offsite trips.
    Alongside the NHS and our specialist Youth Support Coordinators, volunteers will help deliver fun activity workshops for young people on our 2 Edinburgh-based wards and also support with offsite visits approx. 1-2 hours per month.
    Volunteers will:-
    Support young people generally throughout the trip/activity.
    Facilitate conversations with young people and supervising them as required.
    Support the team with preparations for the trips/activities as required.
    Be a visible presence among the group and upholding the values of the charity.
    Become part of a friendly volunteering community whilst gaining experience in supporting young people for a national charity.

    Maximum age:no upper age limit has been specified
    Training provided:The volunteers will have a full training day with Teenage Cancer Trust staff and another ward induction with NHS staff onsite. Throughout the project they will also have support from the Volunteering Development Manager and the Regional Services Manager.

    Experience required:Patience, empathy and the ability to be a good role model for young people. Excellent verbal communication and social skills.
