Our local charity is set-up to deliver community peer-to-peer support group work. They help support people suffering with an eating disorder and their carers/families. The groups are confidential, supportive, informal, friendly and offer a safe and welcoming space to meet.
A Volunteer Support Group Coordinator is required to coordinate the monthly sessions held in Kirkcaldy.
This role will typically involve: Planning sessions for the year and booking the venue Liaising with Group Facilitators to determine availability and allocating to a session as appropriate Reminding group members of the session dates Attending the monthly sessions and supporting as required e.g. setting up, helping with teas/coffees, clearing up after session has ended

All volunteers will be required to complete the Volunteer Recruitment Process which includes submitting an application form with two satisfactory references. Successful applicants will receive induction training outlining the criteria for the role.
All volunteers will receive on-going help and support.
Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - Reimbursement of travel expenses will be made monthly. Either public transport costs or mileage rates where applicable. Mileage rates will be paid in accordance with HMRC. At present this is 45p per mile.
Support charity in developing and implementing a volunteer strategy.
Help identify, recruit and train volunteers.
Support all volunteers to identify their strengths and any skills gaps.
Identify volunteer training - internal and external.
Manage and support volunteer facilitators during the lifetime of the group.
Organising volunteer meetings and/or supervision.

The role would not be suitable for anyone under 18.
