    About this opportunity:All our volunteers work from home. The Secretary is required to attend committee meetings, currently monthly in Kirkcaldy, to liaise with the Chair and other committee members, note the minutes of the meetings and plan actions for the coming months. The Secretary is responsible for correspondence with external agencies and the public, noting diary commitments, general enquiries and administration, managing the database (under supervision from MS National Centre, London) and communications within the membership of Fife Branch, (currently 180 members).
    Training opportunities will be available both locally and with the MS Society Scotland, mostly around issues relating to Multiple Sclerosis Information and Support.

    Takes place:
    Minimum age:18
    Maximum age:no upper age limit has been specified
    Training provided:You will be provided with an induction pack and be offered a volunteer induction training session. You will be supported in your role by local area staff. You will also work alongside the retiring Secretary for a few weeks, and will have the help and support of the Branch Chair and committee at any time.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Public transport rates and mileage at 45p per mile, paid by cheque, monthly on receipt of expenses claim.

    Experience required:Good written and communication skills. Attention to detail. Organisational skills. General secretarial skills. Computing skills (experience of Excel and Outlook Express preferable). Willing to work as part of a team. Confident in using the internet and e-mail.

    Travel DetailsYou will be volunteering at home and out and about in your local community. Monthly committee meetings are in Kirkcaldy, currently on the first Monday of each month at 12pm-2pm in St Bryce Kirk.
