OpportunityAbout this opportunity: We require a responsible, caring individual who wishes to enhance the lives of residents who live in a care home who rely on the assistance and support from others to maintain links with the local community. The outings will mainly be bus trips visiting places of choice, stopping for a coffee or a picnic.
On occasion there may be short trips which include hospital appointments - the volunteer driver would not be expected to be an escort as this would be staff responsibility.
Some of our residents have very little contact with visitors and this would be an ideal opportunity to become a friend to them, chatting and singing on the bus trips. The trips tend to be during the day, Monday-Friday, and on occasion it may be at night but we are very flexible.Takes place: mornings afternoons evenings Mondays 
Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays Saturdays Sundays Minimum age: 25 Maximum age: no upper age limit has been specified Training provided: The volunteer will be shown how to drive the bus and also how to safely use the tail lift of the bus. Out of pocket expenses paid?
NoExperience required: Experience is not essential however someone that holds a driver's licence is essential. They have to be a driver who is sociable and engaging with others. The bus trips will not be long outings but the driver must be able to turn them into the most special trip the residents have ever had. Knowledge of the local area would be advantageous as at times a mystery tour trip is required. Restrictions on who can volunteer
