In the last year, Fife Alcohol Support Service (FASS) has celebrated 40 years of supporting the Fife community and was recently awarded COSCA Recognition. As part of FASS alcohol counselling provision within Fife, the organisation delivers 1-1 confidential counselling programmes for individuals over the age of 16 years and to friends and family who this may impact upon. Volunteer Trainee Counsellors will be involved in a client's specialised alcohol assessment:- client-led goal setting, care and recovery planning, working with family/significant others, arrangements for management of alcohol issues including withdrawals, pre and post detox, together with a counselling approach exploring psychological/emotional and behavioural issues, deliver alcohol education and cognitive behavioural lapse/relapse prevention.

Initial training will be given in Specialised Alcohol Module, further ongoing training will be given during placement together with all other relevant essential training.
Support given throughout placement with continued supervision for client work and volunteer personal development on a weekly basis.
Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - Mileage will be paid and public transport rates will be fully reimbursed on a monthly basis.
