An opportunity to work with older people who have varying levels of both physical and cognitive abilities. Volunteers work alongside day care staff to enable service users to have opportunity to participate in activity which is both interesting and meaningful. This can be joining in games, arts and crafts, baking, quizzes, sports (bowling, snooker, darts, walking, swimming) going on outings, going to concerts, visiting museums and other places of interest, attending social events. Other opportunities may evolve around special interest projects such as, the development of a dementia garden, musical events, planning and organising fundraising events, planning, organising and participating in holidays, planning organising and participating in conferences. All skills and interests are of great value - everything will be given consideration.
