About this opportunity:We are looking for people to guide tour groups around our displays which chart the story of fishing in Scotland from the earliest times to the present. Our collections cover all aspects of the industry from technology (boats and gear) and associated trades (such as fish processing or boat building) to community life, living conditions and culture. We have models, paintings, costume, charts and plans as well as boats and equipment. We are visited by many groups - schools, universities, tour groups of all nationalities etc. What we need are enthusiastic people who can communicate a story to various types of group - knowledge of fishing is not compulsory as full training will be given - the ability to enthuse and inform an audience is more important.
