OpportunityAbout this opportunity: The Hive Kirkcaldy is a community hub providing vital support services and a safe and affirmative place.
Clothing Bank Assistants are needed to help The Hive Kirkcaldy provide individuals and families with access to good-quality clothing, footwear, toiletries and household essentials in a welcoming, respectful and non-judgemental environment.
The volunteer will welcome visitors, volunteers and referral partners in a friendly and respectful manner.
Key tasks include sorting donated clothing, footwear, toiletries and household items, checking donated items are clean, safe and in good condition, organising clothing and other items by size, age and category, preparing clothing and essentials packs using referral forms, assisting with stock rotation, storage and stock records, helping to maintain a clean, safe and well-organised Clothing Bank and reporting damaged items, hazards or concerns to a member of staff.

Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays Saturdays Sundays Minimum age: 16 Maximum age: 100 Training provided: A Volunteer induction and ongoing support. Training will include - health and safety; manual handling; equality, diversity and inclusion; safeguarding; confidentiality and GDPR; customer service; and fire safety. Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - We look on this on an individual basisExperience required: No previous experience is required. Full training and ongoing support will be provided. Friendly, approachable, non-judgemental, compassionate and sensitive to the needs of others Reliable, punctual and organized with the ability to follow processes. Able to work independently and as part of a team, carrying out light physical tasks such as lifting donation bags/boxes and stand for long periods.
