About this opportunity:Kirkcaldy Old Kirk Trust is responsible for preserving and maintaining Kirkcaldy Old Kirk as a community venue, heritage centre and community music hub. The Trust is looking for a volunteer gardener to help with maintaining the garden. The external flower beds provide an area for quiet contemplation and people enjoy viewing them when they pass the church. The kirk also rents out space to a local café and they have a “secret garden” which can be used by customers. Volunteers can be involved in activities such as weeding and general maintenance of the flower beds and also, to take on a more creative role, linking with existing Old Kirk volunteers or the café owner. This will be dependent on volunteer’s confidence and skills. –. As a volunteer you could be part of designing the garden layout and suggesting new and different planting. The recent success of Kirkcaldy in the Britain in Bloom Awards shows us that Kirkcaldy Town Centre plants and flowers are getting noticed.

This role is ideal if you enjoy gardening, have time to spare and ideas you wish see bloom!
