    About this opportunity:Week by week, Scouts volunteers empower thousands of young people aged 4 to 25 to try new things, make new friends and stand on their own two feet. You don’t have to work with young people to give them skills for life.
    39th Scout Group are looking for a treasurer. You could play a critical role in managing their financial health and ensuring transparency, working closely with their board and chairperson to support their mission.
    As treasurer, you will:
    - Oversee all financial aspects, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting
    - Develop annual budgets and financial plans
    - Ensure compliance with charity laws
    - Support fundraising initiatives and optimise resources for long-term sustainability

    Training provided:Volunteers will have safety, safeguarding and GDPR training, as well as having the opportunity to engage in first aid and further ongoing learning. Support is given by the group leader and other trustees.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Travel expenses are available at public transport rates or 45p per mile if using a car.

    Experience required:They are looking for: - Experience in financial management or accounting - Understanding of financial software and tools - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively - Commitment to the values and mission of the Scouts Experience of the charity sector is a plus.
