  About this opportunity:	Help Royal Voluntary Service Fife support older people to be independent and stay connected to their communities. They run day centres, weekly community lunch & activity groups, as well as monthly events across Fife, and they are looking for volunteers who would use their own cars (mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile) to transport older adults to and from local groups and events, who are unable to access public transport either due to a disability or the isolation of their location. Community Driver Volunteers transform the lives of older people, by enabling them to take positive steps to stay connected to their community, enjoying the company of others at events and groups, thus reducing their isolation. This is flexible role that can fit in with your availability. You'll get all relevant training, all travel expenses are reimbursed, and you will be welcomed and supported by a friendly, local team.
  Takes place:	mornings afternoons evenings Mondays Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays Saturdays Sundays
  Minimum age:	18
  Maximum age:	100
  Training provided:	Volunteers will take part in an induction programme before being matched with an older person who requires transport. You will also benefit from ongoing support and supervision, as well as additional training opportunities to increase your skills and confidence, for example, dementia awareness training.
  Out of pocket expenses paid?	Yes - Yes, they reimburse all travel expenses whether using public transport or your own vehicle, and expenses can be claimed and paid on a weekly or monthly basis according to your preference.
  Experience required:	A full driving licence with access to a car, a friendly personality with good communication skills, empathy, patience and a non-judgmental attitude is necessary. You must be reliable, have the ability to maintain confidentiality, and be able to volunteer independently (with support from local staff).
