    About this opportunity:Crossroads Befriending Service is aimed at vulnerable adults living in Central, Levenmouth and North East Fife areas who are feeling socially isolated and lonely
     •  As a Volunteering Befriender, you can be a vital contact and important link to other valuable sources of information and support
     •  You can offer a regular opportunity for social interaction - over the phone, in the person’s home or to their local community (café, recreational activity or other important appointment)
     •  You can provide a confidential, supportive and trusting relationship to help improve a person’s self-esteem, confidence, health and well-being and, most importantly, help reduce the detrimental effects of social isolation and loneliness
     •  Can you help transform someones life, simply by giving a few hours a week? If you’re a warm, considerate, honest and reliable individual, who’s interested in the well-being of others, we want to hear from you!

    Training provided:Volunteer 3-day induction including the following information: Organisation, Policy & Procedures (incl Confidentiality, Adult Protection, Health & Safety, Lone Volunteering etc) Volunteer Role, Responsibilities & Boundaries Regular formal and informal support & supervision: Individually by phone, email, text, face to face Group meetings face to face, online (zoom or teams etc) Ongoing CPD training opportunities
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Volunteer out of pocket expenses paid monthly upon receipt of expenses claim. Car Mileage paid at 45p per mile, Public Transport (receipt required), Refreshments up to £3.00 per session (receipt required).

    Experience required:Life experience, good listener/communicator, positive, accepting, genuine and empathic.
