Athletics Coach
with Pitreavie Amateur Athletic Club.
About this opportunity: | Pitreavie Amateur Athletic Club is one of the largest and most successful athletics clubs in Scotland • We regularly send athletes to the Commonwealth Games and have sent representatives to the Olympics • The most important area of athletics is the training of young athletes from 9-13 years in basic fitness and athletics skills • Developing athletes in this age group can be particularly rewarding for the coach, who can see rapid development, and gives children the benefits of fitness and a healthy lifestyle for later years • It is also an area which is in danger of being neglected • If you have an interest in athletics or any competitive sport and can commit to a minimum of two hours, two evenings a week, you might enjoy coaching athletes at Pitreavie • You don't need to be particularly fit, young or athletic yourself, just able to explain and describe activities, motivate and guide children as they work to acquire skills and fitness • Many of our most active coaches are Senior Citizens • We offer full training and support and new coaches will be encouraged to attain their UK Athletics Coaching qualification, at no cost to themselves • It may be that you are interested in particular disciplines such as throws or jumps or have a background in something specific like hurdles and would prefer to specialise • UKA requires Enhanced Disclosure of all coaches, again at no cost to the individual • We are a friendly club and, if you would like to get involved at any level, please contact [email protected] • com | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
