  About this opportunity:	Fife Centre for Equalities are recruiting volunteers for an exciting new role, in which ‘Community Navigators’ will engage with local communities with the aim of finding out more about their needs  •  With a particular focus around mental health and wellbeing needs, Community Navigators will facilitate discussions around what can be done to help bring positive change  •  As part of this role, the organisation and the volunteers, will hold community feedback drop-in sessions around Fife to hear local views  •  Full training will be provided, alongside many practice sessions to help you gain the confidence you need  •  So, if you enjoy talking to others, want to improve communication skills or want to help your community, this might be the role for you  •  First training session is on Wednesday 30th September 2026  •
  Takes place:	mornings afternoons evenings Mondays Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays Saturdays Sundays
  Minimum age:	16

  Training provided:	The first training session will be held by an external organisation, where training will be for both staff and volunteers. There will be another external training session in early 2027. In between then we will host catch-up training sessions in October, November and December. There will also be a controlled practice session in February followed by monthly ongoing support and training for all volunteers which can include any pastoral care, covering any concerns and continue with any training support needed.
  Out of pocket expenses paid?	Yes - We pay 0.45pence per mile. We will reimburse public transportation tickets, although we recommend using the busses where possible, if not possible then trains will be reimbursed. If a taxi is required, we can reimburse, as long as prior notice is given.
  Experience required:	Must be empathetic, be confident, good communication skills, be adaptable, willingness and eagerness to learn if the above skills are not matched but are still interested.

  Travel Details	The opportunity will take place in Kirkcaldy until March 2027, after that we will be meeting once or twice a month and moving to different areas around Fife each time. Travel expenses will be reimbursed (within reason, for example, if you need to take a taxi, please inform us ahead of time). If you are unable to attend sessions further away, it’s not an issue, just attend when you can.
