Community Supports for Mental Health and Wellbeing for Children and Young People in Fife - 2025 Survey

  • Thank you for taking the time to share your views. This survey is being independently undertaken by Fife Voluntary Action to inform and influence the work of Our Minds Matter, and in particular the Children and Young people - Community Mental Health and Wellbeing: Supports and Services Framework within Fife.

    Introduction
Every child and young person in Scotland should be able to access local community services which support and improve their mental health and emotional wellbeing. They should be able to get the help they need, when and where they need it, from people with the right knowledge, skills and experience to support them. Support should be easily accessible within their local area.

Fife Voluntary Action is working in partnership with Fife Council to gather information from young people and their parents/carers/family members about the current availability and effectiveness of mental health and emotional wellbeing supports and services within local communities across Fife.

We are keen to hear directly from people who have either used services or have considered using services. This survey is to help us find out what matters to you and your family and how we can improve services and consider what provision may look like beyond 2025.

Your answers are anonymous, so please be as honest as you can.

    Who is this survey for?
The young person survey is open to young people aged 12 to 26 years.
The parents/carers and families survey is open to families of children and young people aged 5-26.

    Privacy Information
We do not ask for any personal details in the survey. We ask for views which Fife Voluntary Action will collate and summarise in a report for our Our Minds Matter colleagues in Fife Council. We will not share the full, detailed survey results with them. When providing answers, please be careful not to provide any personal identifiable information. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that no personally identifiable information provided in error will feature in the report. If you have any questions or concerns about your privacy and this survey, please contact us.

    Other methods
Fife Voluntary Action will be hosting workshops and focus groups across Fife to complement this survey. We will be doing these through trusted partners, who will invite their service users to participate.

    What difference will this make?
All of our findings will be written up in a report that will go to the Steering Group that oversees Community Mental and Health Wellbeing funding and services for children and young people in Fife. It will directly inform and influence their priorities, funding decisions and action plan.
