New Directory for Fife

• Fife Voluntary Action has developed a new, comprehensive database of third sector organisations in Fife. Please read the further details below to see what's different about this one, and why it is important that your organisation is in the new system.

  
  Databases, lists or directories are fairly common, but we've developed a unique database, with benefits for all parties.
  
  

  Benefits of ensuring your organisation details are present, and correct:

  • Other databases and lists have information on organisations - our database will also have details on services - a significant enhancement;
  • This new database will replace all of the other databases and lists in Fife;
  • Multiple websites across Fife's third and public sectors will all use the data from this database;
  • We will link your volunteer opportunities, job vacancies and more to your organisation data, providing members of the public with a better experience and maximising exposure for your organisation and services;
  • It will help people to find your organisation and services, driving traffic to your website and social media - FVA's website receives thousands of unique visitors every week;
  • You won't be asked to update your details in any other database or list in Fife;
  • We have dedicated staff who will be working hard to ensure it remains up to date;
  • We will use it to produce anonymised, sector data - which we will share;
  • Organisations can ask for data about the sector to help support their funding applications;
  • When public sector partners want to do a consultation, or commissioning, those organiastions in the database will be notified;
  • Whilst our priority is currently third sector organisations and services, we will be including public sector services too - making it a really valuable tool for everybody across Fife - allowing members of the public to find services, make referrals and more.

  Next Steps

  The Directory on our website is the old one for now. We will switch over to the new database, and also allow organisations to view the service information we have, giving them a chance to add services and make changes where required.
