Scottish Parliament: Introducing Fife's Community Outreach Officer
Created: 05/04/2018Ever wanted to have more of a say on what happens at the Scottish Parliament but didn’t quite know how?
A good start could be to get in touch with the Parliament’s Community Outreach Team.
The Community Outreach Team supports the Parliament’s Committees in involving the people of Scotland in their scrutiny work. They run events and activities for Committees to help them reach into communities, to hear ‘lived experience’ from those affected by policies. They also work to ensure the public understand their role in the scrutiny process before, during and after their participation, including through hosting and attending visits and events.
Each local authority area in Scotland has a named staff member from the Community Outreach Team who is tasked with developing networks in their area.
Ewan Masson is the contact for Fife and as a former development worker with Dunfermline Advocacy he knows the area well. Ewan is keen to hear from organisations who would like to know more about engaging with the Scottish Parliament and to explore opportunities to raise awareness in Fife.
