This stand-alone, multi-agency seminar is aimed at professionals across services who work with and support children and young people in a range of settings. It is particularly suitable for Education, CLD, NHS, Social Work and Third Sector staff. The course will examine what pornography is and will look at values and attitudes around use of pornography. The potential impact of pornography on young people's relationships will be discussed and legal issues highlighted. Sources of further information, reading and resources will also be suggested.
The aim of this seminar is to raise awareness of the range of pornography available to young people and examine the potential impact of pornography on young people's relationships. By the end of the training participants will be able:
To demonstrate an understanding of what pornography is;
To discuss some of the potential impacts of pornography on young people's relationships;
To feel more confident in discussing issues around pornography with young people.
The seminar will be facilitated by Lynda Dargie, Learning and Development Officer, FVAWP.
