    Deaf Awareness Training is to help participants have a better understanding of those with a hearing loss.

    The course will cover the following topics:

    • Different types of hearing loss;
    • Statistics of hearing loss in the UK and Fife;
    • Understanding the difficulties people with a hearing loss have and how to resolve them;
    • Recognising anyone who has a hearing loss;
    • Lip reading activity;
    • Effective communication;
    • How to use Sign Language Interpreters.

    The training will be informal and various activities are done throughout the session for staff to be able to participate in the discussions.
