Fife's Young Volunteer of the Year to be mentored by First Minister!
Created: 08/08/2017Charlotte Liddell of Buckhaven won Fife Voluntary Action's Young Volunteer of the Year Award at our annual prize giving event in June of this year. Charlotte is a young mum and volunteers with Fife Gingerbread, supporting lone parents and vulnerable families.
Her incredible commitment and desire to support others has attracted the attention of Scotland's First Minister (FM), Nicola Sturgeon, who has chosen Charlotte from over 200 applicants to be mentored by the FM for a year, to encourage a new generation of female leaders in Scotland.
The FM paid a visit to the Greig Institute in Leven on 07 August to meet Charlotte and raise the profile of this new scheme - Charlotte becomes the first mentee under this programme.
