Important changes to the Code of Fundraising Practice
Created: 04/08/2017The Fundraising Regulator has published changes to 6 key areas of the Code of Fundraising Practice after seeking the views of fundraisers and the public. The full changes can be viewed by clicking here.
The Code changes include new requirements regarding:
• Charity trustees
• The fundraising ask
• Solicitation (disclosure) statements
• Raising concerns about fundraising practice (whistleblowing)
• Charity Collection Bags
• Fundraising Agreements and monitoring third party compliance
Charities have been given a grace period of between two and four months to implement some of the changes (see implementation timescale by clicking here), where significant adjustment will be required in training and compliance monitoring processes.
Alongside the Code changes, the Fundraising Regulator has published a summary of responses to its consultation and the results of research with members of the public across the UK. These can be viewed by clicking here.
Questions on these changes can be sent to [email protected].
