    Hours: 30 per week

    Salary: £10 per hour

    Methilhill Community Children's Initiative (MCCI) is a community group dedicated to providing clubs, activities and experiences to their local children, young people and their families. 

    They are looking for a passionate, caring and motivated Project Manager to support and lead their current teams in the delivery of a high quality, flexible early learning and childcare experience. The task of the Project Manager is to work alongside sessional staff, planning and organising group activities.

    Activities include working with staff, volunteers, children, young people and their families. Work includes working in an outdoors environment. Work also involves aspects of gardening, planting and growing. Recording of information, budgeting, planning and adhering to legal guidelines is necessary in this post. Team working is vital. As their new manager, they would like you:

    • To have a sound knowledge of the benefits of outdoor experiences for young children and have an understanding of how to extend and develop their outdoor provision;
    • To ensure that the day to day management of the organisation complies with the groups policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and national and local current policy;
    • To have an excellent working knowledge and ability to implement the Curriculum for Excellence, How good is our Early Learning and Childcare and Building the Ambition;
    • To ensure that suitable activities are planned and implemented in accordance with current practice;
    • To promote children's care, learning and development at all times;
    • To ensure that children's individual learning needs are being met and that each child's progress is recorded;
    • To line manage staff and support their learning and development;
    • To liaise with the Board, Care Inspectorate and other agencies as required;
    • To ensure appropriate Quality Assurance systems are in place;
    • To investigate possible funding sources;
    • To deal with enquiries as required;
    • To work within the policies and procedures of MCCI The Manager will be accountable to the MCCI board and will work closely with them in the running of the organisation;
    • To assist in the monitoring of activities, keeping appropriate records;
    • To report on a regular basis, progress of groups to board;
    • Prepare reports for funders as required Qualifications and experience.

    Applicants' qualifications should be consistent with those required to register as a Manager with SSSC (e.g. BA Childhood Practice or equivalent), consideration will be given to applicants who have experience working within an Early Learning and Childcare setting and show commitment to gaining a relevant qualification. PVG Scheme Membership is a requirement of this post.
