Funding news, including new and recently opened funds.

EventScotland - Scottish Clan Event Fund

The latest round of funding has been extended to include organisations acting on behalf of a clan or clan society.

The fund supports a number of clan events and activities across Scotland which take place outside the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Examples of eligible activities include clan and recognised family gatherings, clan games, battle and historic re-enactments, cultural and/or music events, guided walks and tours, historical/ghost tours, ceilidhs and festivals. Events taking place in 2018 should show how they intend to engage with Scotland's Year of Young People. The deadline for this is 29 September 2017.

WREN - FCC Scottish Action Fund

The FCC Scottish Action Fund offers funding to projects through the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund (SLCF). WREN will consider applications across all types of projects included in the SLCF Objects including: land reclamation, community recycling, public amenities and parks, biodiversity and historic buildings. The deadline for this is 23 August 2017.

Foundation Scotland - Essentia Foundation (New Fund)

The focus of the Essentia Foundation is on projects which demonstrate a clear fit with at least one of the following themes: social enterprises; projects supporting young people; health including sexual health and mental illness; education; older people.  The deadline for this is 27 June 2017.

Patagonia - Enivironmental Grant (New Fund)

Patagonia funds only environmental work and are most interested in giving grants to organisations that identify and work on the root causes of problems and that approach issues with a commitment to long-term change. They support small, grassroots, activist organisations with provocative direct-action agendas, working on multi-pronged campaigns to preserve and protect our environment. They help local groups working to protect local habitat, and think the individual battles to protect a specific stand of forest, stretch of river or indigenous wild species are the most effective in raising more complicated issues – particularly those of biodiversity and ecosystem protection – in the public mind.  The deadline for this is 30 June 2017.
