The Social Enterprise Census 2017
Created: 03/05/2017The second official count of enterprising charities and social enterprises - organisations operating for the public good and generating income from trading activities – is now underway with The Social Enterprise Census 2017. The project is being carried out by Social Firms Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Government, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Scottish Enterprise, Big Lottery Fund, and others.
Accounting for all social enterprise activity across the country, Social Firms Scotland hopes to collect as many responses as possible. All information provided is confidential, and the census survey only takes approximately fifteen minutes to complete. There are three iPads available in a prize draw for all who complete the survey.
The aim is to ensure that the work of such organisations is better understood and better supported. The findings from the 2015 Social Enterprise Census have already been widely used and have made a huge difference. For example, they have been used to lobby on important issues for the sector, informed the Scottish Parliament's first debate on social enterprise, and informed Scotland's bold new strategy to support social enterprises.
