Pink Saltire moves to New Volunteer House
Created: 24/04/2017Fife Voluntary Action is delighted to announce that Pink Saltire will become the newest member of our growing community at New Volunteer House this week.
Pink Saltire is a Fife-based equalities charity, focussed on improving the visibility and understanding of LGBT matters across Scotland. They are a media-based charity and have recently produced a number of ground-breaking short films on issues such as trans healthcare and inclusive education. The charity sits on the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on LGBT Issues, is a member of community networks in Aberdeen, Forth Valley, Fife and Glasgow. The charity’s Founder, Stuart Duffy, from Dunfermline, has been the driving force behind improved representation of LGBT people in Fife and currently chairs the new Fife Pride organisation.
One of Pink Saltire’s Trustees, William Watters, commented on the opening of the organisation's first office and charity headquarters at New Volunteer House, “We’re very impressed with the fantastic facilities available in Kirkcaldy and we’re really excited to be joining our neighbours and colleagues at our new office. The co-ordinated support of Fife Voluntary Action in providing advice but also facilities is enabling our organisation to grow and expand at a critical time. We look forward to all the benefits this new move brings for us and our partners.”
